The production is completely immersive. Every nuance, every texture, seems to respond to a different emotional state: confusion, hope, anxiety, resilience… And yes, it feels like a generational conversation in musical form.

Seven Years Of Sensation is a fine art avant-garde project Cory’s creating over a seven year span for release in 2031. The concept is simple: He’s creating one extended work a year encapsulating something he was deeply experiencing during this unprecedented era of intellectual, cultural and political uncertainty and upheaval.

2024’s and 2025’s pieces were composed, produced and released as multimedia works to great acclaim in collaboration with Cory’s daughter video director Sidney Cullinan, touching nerves with many listeners, viewers and reviewers who report a cathartic feeling experiencing them. Footprint (inspired by John Chowning) is above and 2025 Alive (inspired by The United States Of America) is below.

2026’s Sensation Empathy will be released on November 10th. It’s both a deeply personal work about Cory’s own experience and a collaborative effort by his Stanford students — simultaneously purposefully composed and an aleatoric homage to John Cage’s Musicircus, which Cory played saxophone on as an undergrad for Cage himself in a performance at Stanford in 1992.
