When you work with another artist, you get to see the other side of the vision that you don’t see. It helps expand your paradigm and your parameters. He really helped me see what was on the other side…

It was my honor to collaborate with the Grammy-winning artist Jon Samson and Doctor Noize on my song I Is Love. I really enjoyed the process of making the song with my producers Jon and Doctor Noize. It was really fun, and they’re not just talented, but also very funny. And Doctor Noize played saxophone on the song and made it really cool.

Juntos was really fun because we got to do it as a collaboration. We got to go to Doctor Noize’s studio and record the vocals, but you know what? The video… we actually didn’t record being in the same place. Andrés and I recorded it on one day at our place, and Doctor Noize and the rest of his crew recorded it on a different day. So we had to really plan ahead and make sure we were doing the right movements so it would come out okay. And I think it did!

We’re teaming up with our friend Cory for a super fun bilingual groove about doing things together. Juntos!

Positive Energy — the name of the track — is what I also got out of the track in working with Cory. It was really cool because he was really malleable and easy to work with in the sense that he was completely open to doing whatever needs to be done as long as the integrity of the message and what we had was there. We did a lot of editing, we did a lot of replacing some of the files, and through the mix process I took a lot of creative liberty. Cory was super cool about that. We worked together, and he would give me mix notes along the way. In the end, the whole goal of these collaborations is to make a better product than if you did it just on your own, and I know that was the case here. We all put our heads together, and the ending result I’m very pleased with and proud to be a part of. Nice work, Cory — nice working with you!
