I found it was really powerful to use splashes of the visuals to emphasize what was happening in the music. In the beginning, the visuals emphasize the more unnerving parts of the music, but eventually the visual flashes highlight the humanity in the audio portion.Contrasting black space and footage, I wanted the visual component to both confuse and comfort the audience.
